KUALA TERENGGANU, Dec 11 -- Senegalese defender, Babacar Diallo completes the import quota for the Terengganu FC (TFC) football team next season.
This was announced in the Terengganu Football Association (PBSNT) Facebook.
According to the statement, Diallo, a former Kuopion Palloseura club player, in the Finish League, had signed a one-year contract with TFC, replacing Igor Zonjic whose contract had not been renewed.
"Diallo, who joined Kuopion Palloseura since January, had helped the team to emerge as national champions after first winning it 43 years ago.
‘’The success also gave them the ticket to the first round qualifying round of the European League for the subsequent season,’’ said the statement.
Prior to this, TFC retained its English-Malaysian captain, Lee Tuck and Uzbekistan-born player, Sanjar Shaakmedov.
In addition, PBSNT brought in two new import players including a former player in the Sai Gon club in the Vietnamese League, Dominique Da Sylva and Singaporean winger, Faris Ramli to strengthen the team to face the Malaysian League (M League) competition next season.
Meanwhile, TFC chief coach, Nafuzi Zain hoped the presence of the 30-year-old tall and lean player could further strengthen the defence of the Turtle Squad.
‘’Diallo’s presence ends the lengthy wait of the football fans in the state. Our focus now is to build the compatibility between the players,’’ he added.
