Maybank Islamic initiates umrah registration via Maybank2u

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 -- Maybank Islamic Bhd has embarked on an initiative to provide a seamless registration experience for Muslim customers planning to perform their umrah via Maybank’s online banking site, Maybank2u (M2U). 

Effective today, Maybank and Maybank Islamic Premium credit card customers can customise their umrah travel arrangements by selecting their preferred travel date, flights and accommodation and not be restricted to a travel agency’s fixed packages, Maybank Islamic said in a statement. 

The Premium package offering is made possible through the bank’s partnership with travel agency Rayhar Travels Sdn Bhd, one of Malaysia’s established travel agents with the highest number of private umrah and haj pilgrims.

Maybank Islamic head of Islamic wealth management and business development, Ahmad Shareza Abdul Rahman said taking into consideration the new normal arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, the digital solution for Premium credit cardholders is a convenient way to register their umrah travels from the comfort of their homes. 

He said customers’ registration on M2U will be linked directly to Rayhar Travels online platform which has been designed specifically for the bank.

“From Rayhar’s platform, customers can customise their packages as per their preferences and can even redeem their Maybank Treat Points to partially or fully fund their umrah trip,” said Ahmad Shareza.

Since Oct 18, 2021, the Malaysian government has eased international travel restrictions for Malaysians, and travel agencies have cited Saudi Arabia as one of the most preferred international destinations for Muslim travellers.

“Against this backdrop, we are hopeful that our premium offering with Rayhar will aptly cater to our discerning customers who are looking for flexibility and customised umrah experience,” he said.
