KOTA KINABALU, March 12 (Bernama) -- Three more COVID-19 clusters have officially ended in Sabah today while 26 others are still active.

Sabah Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said the two educational institution clusters that ended today were the Jalan Taman Beringin Cluster in Kota Marudu and the Madai Dua Cluster in Kunak.

“Another one is the Kampung Weston Cluster, a community cluster in Beaufort,” he said in a statement tonight.

Masidi, who is the state COVID-19 spokesperson, said the number of new infections in Sabah dipped below 1,000 today, with 796 cases when 15 districts reported a decrease in cases.

He said the last time Sabah recorded cases below the 1,000 level was on Feb 4, but the percentage of sporadic infections today remained high at almost 65 per cent.

“Of the total new cases, 779 or 97.86 per cent were in categories one and two, three cases in category three, 10 cases in category four and four cases in category five,” he said.
