JASIN, March 19 (Bernama) -- People with disabilities (PwD) need to seize the learning opportunities offered by community colleges in order to develop and improve skills in their fields of interest.
State Youth Development, Sports and Non-Governmental Organisation Committee chairman V.P Shanmugam said this would also ensure that learning did not stop at schools for this group.
“Therefore, I would like to urge those with disabilities to further their studies at community colleges to enable them to develop their skills.
“This can also help improve themselves to secure a better future,” he told a press conference after officiating the convocation ceremony of community colleges in Melaka involving 1,395 diploma and certificate level graduates, at the Merlimau Polytechnic, here today.
On PwD-friendly facilities at community colleges, Shanmugam said that he was satisfied with the improvements that have been and were being made by the management of the educational institution.
He said various efforts have been made to provide more disabled-friendly facilities at community colleges and enable equal access for the group.
