NOKIA has been selected by TIME dotCom for the supply and delivery of a dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) optical network in Malaysia. 

Nokia managing director of Malaysia Datuk Mohd Rauf Nasir said a DWDM optical network will further enable TIME to deliver superior service, capacity, and reliability to its customers. 

"Our optical solutions will enable TIME to differentiate their webscale service offerings while adding operational and cost efficiencies to their network," he said in a statement today. 

The multinational telecommunications company said it will help TIME meet fast-growing traffic demands by enhancing connectivity across data centres and cable landing stations with a highly resilient optical network.

HSBC BANK MALAYSIA BHD has successfully completed its first green loan to property developer Kerjaya Property Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Kerjaya Prospek Property Bhd.

The bank said in a statement that the green loan will help Kerjaya Prospek Property facilitate the funding of its integrated development known as Bloomsvale located in Old Klang Road, Kuala Lumpur. 

The green funding is also key to supporting Kerjaya Prospek Property’s transition towards its net zero journey, it said. 

"There is an inherent need to ensure responsible and sustainable construction and development so that our environment is minimally impacted and continues to be protected; by partnering with Kerjaya Prospek Property, we are taking concrete steps to help them ensure this," said HSBC Malaysia country head of corporate and commercial banking Karel Doshi.

BRITISH MALAYSIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (BMCC) has inked two separate memorandums of understanding (MOU) with the United Nations Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB) and British Standards Institution (BSI) Malaysia to raise awareness on sustainability and climate action practices within Malaysian businesses. 

BMCC said the partnership also signifies the BMCC’s effort to extend support to Malaysian businesses to achieve their respective climate action goals on the collective journey to a net zero economy.

"We are committed to playing our role as a facilitator to this network of stakeholders by developing partnerships with like-minded organisations such as UNGCMYB and BSI Malaysia, as we believe the role of the private sector in Malaysia is extremely crucial to support the national ambition to achieve carbon-neutral targets," said chief executive officer Jennifer Lopez in a statement.

SOLARVEST HOLDINGS BHD has been appointed by NEFIN Energy (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd as the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) solutions provider for a rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) project with a combined capacity of 7.98 megawatts-peak (MWp) in 13 sites across Malaysia for hypermarket chain Lotus's Malaysia. 

In a stock exchange filing with Bursa Malaysia, Solarvest said the rooftop solar PV project will involve 12 stores and one fresh distribution centre of the hypermarket chain.

In 2021, Solarvest was engaged by NE Suria Satu Sdn Bhd, a joint-venture company of PETRONAS and NEFIN Group, to complete the first phase of the project to install PV panels at 15 hypermarkets (then known as Tesco) across Peninsular Malaysia. 

"The repeat contract is a testament to both our quality workmanship and ability to deliver innovative solutions in the solar PV EPCC space," said executive director and group chief executive officer Davis Chong Chun Shiong.

MALAYSIA  AIRLINES TRAVEL FARE (MATF) is offering up to 45 per cent off on domestic and selected international destinations airfares, as well as value-for-money holiday packages and services, from March 25 to April 4, 2022. 

Malaysia Airlines Bhd said customers can also enjoy discounted travel benefits with 25 per cent off on various add-ons, including seat selection, extra baggage, and value bundles. 

For domestic destinations, airfares start from as low as RM79 all-in one-way to destinations within Peninsular Malaysia via economy class and business class fares start from RM379 all-in one-way for flights within Peninsular Malaysia and travel between Sabah and Sarawak. 

For selected international destinations, Malaysia Airlines is offering lower airfares to London, India, Singapore, Phnom Penh, Ho Chi Minh City, Manila, Colombo, Kathmandu, Perth,  Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney, and Melbourne.
