KUALA LUMPUR, 2 April (Bernama) -- Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah today extended their Ugadi greetings to the Telugu community in the country.
Their Majesties, through a posting on the Istana Negara Facebook account, expressed hope that the festival will bring prosperity, good health and happiness to the community.
They also hoped that the celebration would further strengthen the bonds of unity among the people of various races, religions and ethnicities in the country.
The Telugu community, which is about 500,000-strong, ushers in the Ugadi, the beginning of the New Year for the community, today.
