KUALA LUMPUR, May 19 (Bernama) -- YTL Foundation's 'Learn from Home' initiative is still available to school and university students as well as educators although the country has transitioned to the endemic phase.
YTL Communications Sdn Bhd (YES) business director Shahirul Amran said the programme was originally slated to cease at the end of 2020, however, YTL agreed to extend it until September for the group to receive free SIM cards and 7GB data monthly.
"We first planned to help school students and teachers only, however, when the authorities at institutions of higher learning (IPT) heard about this programme, they wanted us to offer this programme and its benefits to IPT students too.
“… for the IPTs involved, (this programme) is not only for students but the academic staff as well," he told Bernama TV's 'Ruang Bicara' programme on the topic of the ‘Learn From Home’ education initiative tonight.
For the application and registration process for the programme, Shahirul said students and educators only need to apply through the ytlfoundation.org website and enter the required information before the YTL Foundation vets the application and uses the courier service for free SIM card delivery.
"Delivery only takes one day for major towns in Peninsular Malaysia while for rural areas it will take between three and five days. For Sabah and Sarawak, delivery takes about five to seven days,” he added.
