KASA TO MONITOR AIR QUALITY MONITORING SYSTEM AT PASIR GUDANG

KUALA LUMPUR --The Ministry of Environment and Water (KASA) will monitor the air quality monitoring system in Pasir Gudang following the construction of a new power station in the area.

Its Minister Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the government had spent over RM1 million on the development of the system, following the chemical waste pollution incident in Sungai Kim Kim, Pasir Gudang in 2019.

“We will monitor the development from time to time,” he said during the question and answer session.

He said this in reply to the supplementary question from Hassan Abdul Karim (PH-Pasir Gudang) on the government’s actions in ensuring that the operation of the power station will not result in air pollution in the area.

FT MINISTRY TO ADD TWO NEW ROUTES FOR GOKL BUS SERVICE EVERY YEAR

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Federal Territories Ministry has set a key performance indicator (KPI) of adding two new routes under its GoKL free bus service every year beginning January 2023.

Its deputy minister Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias said 10 more GOKL buses are needed with the addition of the new routes, bringing the total number of buses operating to 70 next year.

The new bus routes would ensure Kuala Lumpur’s direction towards creating an integrated public transport network was implemented through cooperation between the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD), Transport Ministry and Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, he added.

MAINTENANCE METHOD, MODEL FOR S’WAK PAN BORNEO TO BE FINALISED BEFORE 2025

 KUALA LUMPUR -- The method and model for the maintenance of the Pan Borneo Highway in Sarawak are expected to be finalised before the defect liability period (DLP) ends in 2025.

Senior Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said the government is examining the method and maintenance model with central agencies by taking into account the scope, costs and Level of Service (LOS) of the appropriate maintenance.

“For the work packages and sections that have been completed and are still under the DLP period, the maintenance of the Pan Borneo Highway project will be implemented by the respective contractors under the supervision of the Sarawak Public Works Department as the Superintending Officer,” he said.
