Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Senator Saraswathy Kandasami said for 2023, an allocation of RM30 million has been prepared which is expected to benefit 1,800 Indian entrepreneurs.
“For higher productivity and product competitiveness such as improved product labelling and packaging as well as increased market access, SME Corp also provides assistance under the SME Business Accelerator Programme (BAP).
"For 2021 and 2022, a total of 11 Indian entrepreneurs had benefited from this programme with a grant approval value of RM1.4 million,” she said during the closing debate session on the motion of thanks on the royal address for her ministry on Tuesday.
In other developments, the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives and the agencies under it recorded a total of 1,942,793 women entrepreneurs who have benefited from various entrepreneur development programmes implemented.
Among them are the Tekunnita programme under Tekun Nasional, the UDA Bizznita programme under UDA Holdings and the financing and training programme under Bank Rakyat.
