RMP OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP SHOOTING TOURNAMENT 2023 RECEIVES MBOR RECOGNITION

PUTRAJAYA, May 7 (Bernama) -- The RMP (Royal Malaysia Police) Open Championship 2023 Level III Shooting Tournament has received recognition from The Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) for having the 'Most Participants in Shooting Tournaments', with a total of 787 shooters taking part.

MBOR chief operating officer Christopher Wong handed over the certificate of recognition to Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani during the RMP Open Championship 2023 appreciation ceremony here tonight.

Also present at the event were Deputy IGP Tan Sri Razarudin Husain and Home Ministry secretary-general Datuk Ruji Ubi.

The seven-day tournament, which began on May 1, at the Shapadu Target Shooting Club here was also attended by several national leaders including Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution.

It was also attended by foreign participants from Indonesia, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines.

Acryl Sani in his speech said the recognition means a lot to RMP as it can help to promote Malaysia as a tourist destination that also provides well-equipped facilities for international shooting tournaments.

"It is my hope that Malaysia will be given the opportunity to host the Level V competition which is the World Shoot, the highest level in this IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) tournament, which will be able to boost the country's tourism industry," he added.
