Malaysia Airlines’ Flights To And From Chennai Cancelled Today

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- A Malaysia Airlines flight scheduled to depart from Kuala Lumpur to Chennai in India has been cancelled due to the closure of Chennai Airport (MAA) caused by the floods.

In its travel advisory today, the national airline said flight MH182 scheduled to depart Kuala Lumpur at 9:10 am on Dec 5, 2023, to MAA has been cancelled.

“The return leg (via) MH183 will also be cancelled,” it said. 

The airport in Chennai has been closed since 9.17 am yesterday due to adverse weather.

“Passengers booked on these flights may choose to defer travel until Dec 19, 2023, or request to be rebooked on flights to Bangalore and Hyderabad (subject to availability) or opt for a refund,” the airline said.

For immediate assistance, it requested that passengers contact Malaysia Airlines’ Global Contact Centre at 1 300 88 3000 (within Malaysia) or +603 7843 3000 (outside Malaysia).

According to a news report, Chennai has been battered by rains and floods as Cyclone Michaung nears the city.
