MACC Submits Several Governance Improvement Recomendations To Felda and Two Subsidiaries

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 28 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has submitted several governance improvement recommendations to the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) and two of its subsidiaries to enhance transparency in the implementation of the Agro Park (Commercial) Project and the Cattle Trading Pilot Project.

MACC, in a Facebook post today, stated that these recommendations were presented through its Governance Investigation Division to FELDA, FIC Supplies Sdn Bhd, and FIC Integrated Property Management (FIC IPM).

Among the recommendations put forward is the restructuring of FIC IPM's role as an independent advisory panel to ensure that the views and advice provided are more objective, transparent, and free from conflicts of interest.

MACC noted that FELDA was also recommended to establish specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) for procurement methods via Requests for Proposal and variation orders, as well as to improve transaction procedures by FIC Supplies to strengthen internal controls and transparency.

"FELDA and its subsidiaries welcome the recommendations and have committed to implementing them in stages," according to the post.

According to MACC, agreement on these recommendations was finalised through a Governance Improvement Report signed by FELDA Deputy Director General of Services Muhammad Fitri Othman, FIC Group Chief Executive Officer Syed Fadil Syed Sofi, and MACC Governance Investigation Division Director Datuk Mohazaki Hassan.
