PDRM Announces Appointments, Transfers Of 36 Senior Officers

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 10 (Bernama) -- The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) today announced new appointments and transfers of 36 senior officers, effective March 10.

PDRM secretary Datuk Kamaruzaman Abdullah said the new appointments and transfers involve, among others, Deputy Pahang Police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin who will be the new Perak Police chief with the acting rank of Commissioner of Police (CP).

Sarawak Deputy Police Commissioner Datuk Ibrahim Darus, on the other hand, has been appointed as Deputy Director of Bukit Aman Special Branch II, also with the acting rank of CP.

“The change also involves the Head of Licensing (Firearms Licence) for the Office of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar, who has been appointed as the Melaka Police chief, with the acting rank of Deputy CP (DCP).

“Meanwhile, Datuk Mohammad Shaharul Md Osman, the Head of Pahang Special Branch, has been appointed as Bukit Aman Deputy Director of the E2 Special Branch, also with the acting rank of DCP,” he said in a statement.

Kamaruzaman said that the Assistant Director of E3A Special Branch at Bukit Aman, SAC Azhar Sepawi, has been appointed as the Principal Assistant Director of E6 Special Branch at Bukit Aman, while the Principal Assistant Director of Personnel (Staffing) in the Management Division of Bukit Aman, SAC Mohd Zaini Abu Hassan, will be the new Selangor Deputy Police chief, with both of them acting in the rank of DCP.

In addition, the Hilir Perak District Police chief, ACP Ahmad Adnan Basri, has been appointed as the Head of the Crisis and Disaster Management Science School at the Police Training Centre in Kuala Lumpur, while the Deputy Head of the Special Branch for Intelligence and Operations in Sarawak, ACP Yuszida Basria, will take up the position of Director of the Intelligence Division at the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency.

Both of them will act in the rank of SAC, he said.

He further stated that another change involves ACP Muhamad Riduan Manap, Assistant Director of Prevention of Gambling and Vice (D7) at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Bukit Aman, who has been appointed as the Principal Assistant Director of Special Investigations/Organised Crime (D9) at CID Bukit Aman, acting in the rank of SAC.

Muhamad Riduan’s current post will be succeeded by Tapah District Police chief Supt Mohd Naim Asnawi, with the acting rank of ACP.
