Madad Ventures Into Islamic Wall Clock Production

SUNGAI PETANI, Jan 14 (Bernama) -- The Murtadha Dakwah Centre (Madad), a community development and education centre, has ventured into producing Islamic wall clocks as part of its business diversification strategy.

Madad managing director Mohammad Yaakub Yusra said the initiative aims to generate income for the institution and reduce its reliance on public donations.

“This is Madad’s latest project to generate income, undertaken in collaboration with Promas Technology Sdn Bhd, a company with extensive experience in manufacturing digital wall clocks equipped with azan (call to prayer).

“Madad has invested approximately RM1 million to establish the clock production facility, acquire necessary machinery and equipment, and conduct research,” he said recently.

He added that the first batch of 1,000 clocks, featuring prayer times and azan functions, is available for sale this month, with most units have already been pre-ordered.

Another 5,000 units are scheduled for production next month to meet growing demand, he said.

Mohammad Yaakub highlighted that, in addition to their attractive features and designs, the clocks are certified by the Home Ministry and the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM).

Regarding the progress of the Madad Islamic Community Centre project, he said construction has reached 60 per cent completion since it began in 2018.

“We also have several other projects in the pipeline, including a petrol station, hotel, housing development and the Madad Edu Kids project,” he said.
