BookDoc leverages its digital technology prowess to combat COVID-19

KUALA LUMPUR, April 3  -- An online healthcare platform, BookDoc has leveraged its digital technology prowess via Activ platform to help the Ministry of Health (MOH) combat COVID-19.

Founder and CEO of BookDoc, Datuk Chevy Beh said over the last one month members of the public could access the BookDoc’s Activ platform to get their free virtual health advisory, ordering COVID-19 lab test, accessing to the latest COVID-19 updates and news, webinar and get their online appointment to serve the social distancing purposes.

"The corporate social responsibility (CSR) collaboration with MOH is extended to match with preventive creation of medical and social infrastructure that will not overwhelm the public hospitals with massive numbers of the sick, and also to minimise COVID-19 local transmission.

"BookDoc is also committed to supporting the health authorities in Malaysia to reach every individual who is in need of timely health support in the face of this global crises. Everyone should have access to COVID-19 related health services they need, when and where they need them, so no one will left behind," Beh said in a statement, today.

He said the free virtual health advisory, ordering COVID-19 lab test, access to the latest COVID-19 updates, news and webinar (daily 2.00 pm - 2.30 pm, excludes weekends and public holidays) are available via BookDoc App, where the webinar can also be watched through webinar.bookdoc.com.

According to him the MOH-led and BookDoc supported COVID-19 digital solutions had garnered closed to one million users as at today.

On April 1, Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, in a Memorandum of Understanding signing event with private health services companies including BookDoc, said he hoped the online initiatives could serve as alternatives to reduce overcrowding at health clinics as well as social distancing purposes during the pandemic.
