HONG LEONG, HONG LEONG ISLAMIC EXTENDS RM33.4 BLN PAYMENT RELIEF ASSISTANCE
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 -- Hong Leong Bank and Hong Leong Islamic Bank has extended RM33.4 billion of Payment Relief Assistance, including the PEMULIH Payment/Repayment Relief Assistance to its individual and small and medium enterprise (SME) customers as of Sept 17, 2021.
In a statement today, the bank said it has maintained a 100 per cent approval rate for eligible customers who have applied for payment relief assistance.
The bank added that it will continue to work closely with borrowers to provide Payment Relief Assistance to those who continue to be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The bank is fully committed to helping customers recover from the impacts of the pandemic, and we will continue to be steadfast in supporting customers through the payment assistance programmes,” said group managing director and chief executive officer Domenic Fuda.
He said the bank is also extending loans and financing to customers, especially to SMEs looking for working capital to restart or to resume their operations at 100 per cent capacity.
According to Fuda, Hong Leong Bank is committed to supporting the SME sector by providing them with access to financing as well as equipping them with digital business solutions.
From January to August 2021, the bank has disbursed new financing of RM3.95 billion to SME customers, supporting them not only towards their recovery journey but also to fortify their business to be more sustainable, he said.
