TRAVELOKA saw flight searches for overseas destinations on the travel superapp between April and May 2022 recovered to as high as the same period in 2019.

“Overall, international flight issuance has grown by 48 per cent on average since the announcement of border reopening on March 24,” it said in a statement today.

Therefore, Travelooka said it collaborated with its travel superapp partners in the flight, hotel and attraction segments on a “GOverseas: International Travel Fiesta” to offer Malaysians deals of up to RM1,335 off flight tickets, hotels and attractions between May 31 and June 6, 2022.

It added that it would also reward customers with combinable flight coupons of up to RM25 when they participate in its special in-app mission, GOverseas missions, and complete them.

SIME DARBY PROPERTY BHD achieved 100 per cent take-up for its virtual launch of East 57 units in KL East at a price range of RM1.8 million to RM2.8 million.

In a statement today, it said the company held a virtual launch in KL East last weekend and all 57 units of the freehold, three-storey superlink homes were fully snapped up by property buyers in less than a day,  continuing the trend of fast market absorption for the company.

Group managing director Datuk Azmir Merican said that East 57 attracted strong demands even before the launch due to the limited supply of well-designed landed units in the KL East and Melawati area.

“The natural surroundings, larger floorplans and low density of the development appealed strongly to the young, growing families in the area and proved to be exactly what people were looking for,” he said.

CTOS DIGITAL BHD’s wholly-owned subsidiary, CTOS Data Systems Sdn Bhd, has reached the milestone of two million self-check subscribers, barely two years since reaching the one million mark, proving that consumers were taking their financial health much more seriously.

In a statement today, CTOS Digital said it has carried out many consumer-related financial literacy educational programmes across all segments of the society over the years to raise public awareness on the importance of credit health for a better financial future.

“This has led to a deeper understanding amongst Malaysian consumers on the value of doing self-checks to stay on top of their credit health to ensure sound financial planning,” it said.

EDGEPOINT INFRASTRUCTURE, an ASEAN-based independent telecommunications infrastructure company, has completed the takeover of the first batch of its tower sites in the Philippines, comprising 1,512 sites via its subsidiary, Comworks Infratech Corporation (EdgePoint Philippines).

It said the official handover of the remaining 1,422 sites is expected to be completed by the end of 2022, fulfilling the sale and leaseback agreement between EdgePoint Philippines and subsidiaries of PLDT Inc signed in April this year for 2,934 towers in the Luzon Island group.

“PLDT Inc’s subsidiary, Smart, will be leasing the towers from EdgePoint Philippines to serve its mobile communications and high-speed internet connectivity needs in the region,” it said in a statement today.

It added that upon completion of the entire transaction, EdgePoint Infrastructure would own over 13,000 towers across ASEAN.
