AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT WITH RM220 MLN GDV IN MANTIN TO BE COMPLETED IN 2026

SEREMBAN, July 18 (Bernama) -- An affordable housing project with an estimated gross development value (GDV) of RM220 million developed in Mantin, Negeri Sembilan is expected to be completed in 2026.

Negeri Sembilan Investment, Industry, Entrepreneurship, Education and Human Capital Action Committee chairman Datuk Mohamad Rafie Ab Malek said the project involved a collaboration between Perbadanan Negeri Sembilan and private developer Multiplex Development Sdn Bhd on 24.63 hectares of land.

“The implementation of the project is expected to begin by the end of this year. We have identified potential land in the Mantin area to develop quality and comfortable affordable housing worth RM80,000 to RM360,000.

“This development involves the construction of an estimated 800 units of affordable housing with a built-up area of 20x60 square feet for type A, 20x65 square feet (type B) and 20x70 square feet (type C),” he said at the project’s groundbreaking ceremony in Mantin, near here, today.

Also present was Multiplex Development Director Datuk Lee Chi Loon.

Mohamad Rafie said the project is also equipped with various facilities including a surau, kindergarten, playground and flood reservoir.

Meanwhile, he said the state government, through Perbadanan Negeri Sembilan, also intended to develop more new housing in Parcel B, Smart County in the Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0 (MVV 2.0) area of about 1,011 hectares.

He said 25,000 units of houses are estimated to be built, involving 12,500 units of affordable houses by category based on the Negeri Sembilan Housing Policy, namely 20 per cent type A houses, 15 per cent type B houses and 15 per cent type C houses.

“Most importantly, it will create around 5,000 units of type A affordable housing worth RM80,000,” he added.
