KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 (Bernama) -- Boeing has announced Penny Burtt as the new president of the company’s Southeast Asia business, effective July 3, 2024.
In a statement today, the global aerospace company said Burtt will be based in Singapore and oversee Boeing’s strategy and operations as it expands its regional presence.
“She will also become director and chair of Boeing Singapore Pte Ltd and president director of PT. Boeing Indonesia,” it said.
Burtt most recently led public policy and government relations for the Asia-Pacific region at Stripe, a financial infrastructure company.
She is a former Australian diplomat who served in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia, and a board member of the United States-ASEAN Business Council.
Boeing also said that it has partnered with stakeholders in Southeast Asia for over 75 years, building aerospace and defence capabilities in the region with offices in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
“The region is one of the world’s fastest-growing commercial aircraft markets and its defence needs are rapidly expanding,” it added.
