KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 8 (Bernama) -- Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) is projecting a 20 per cent increase in sales and points redeemed with enhanced redemption benefits during its four-day Treats Fair 2024 that runs from today.

Group chief executive officer of community financial services Syed Ahmad Taufik Albar said the previous Treats Fair generated over RM10 million in sales and witnessed a staggering two billion Maybank points redeemed.

"This year, Maybank Treat Fair marks two decades of rewarding loyalty to our customers, and as the longest-running bank loyalty redemption event, it is recognised by the Malaysian Book of Records,” he said at the launching ceremony here, today.

Maybank Treats Fair 2024, held at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, features close to 300 booths offering exclusive deals, discounts and activities.

Syed Ahmad Taufik said Maybank has a 13 million cardholder base, with transaction growth surging by 30 per cent year-to-date, showcasing a testament to the bank’s unwavering commitment to intensify its customer centricity.

Meanwhile, Maybank head of cards B.Ravintharan said the bank is targeting a 15 per cent growth rate in card spending this year.

"Last year’s growth was close to 15 per cent as well. So we expect no less than that. And, this year we are also anticipating growth in the e-commerce business, therefore it is a combination of both e-commerce and non-e-commerce transactions," he added.

Syed Ahmad Taufik said Maybank's customer base exceeds 2.2 million credit card holders, and the Treats Fair aims to attract approximately 125,000 visitors.

"During the four-day event, the bank hopes to see 1,500 new credit card sign-ups, bolstered by promotions and the allure of winning a car worth RM145,000," he said.

At the Maybank Treats Fair 2024, customers can redeem Agoda vouchers worth RM100 and RM200 from as low as 40,000 and 80,000 points, respectively, or redeemable from 42,500 and 85,000 points thereafter.
