SABAK BERNAM, Aug 20 (Bernama) -- MNRB Holdings Bhd today organised its signature financial literacy initiative, the “Ringgit Savvy” programme, to educate and familiarise secondary school students with smart financial management via an engaging and interactive experience.
This programme was conducted at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Ungku Aziz here in conjunction with the upcoming “Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia 2024” (MSAM 24) to be held at Setia Alam Convention Centre from Oct 22-25, 2024, said MNRB in a statement today.
“Central to the programme is the ‘MNRB Ringgit Journey’, a life-sized board game specifically tailored by the company to introduce students to key financial concepts, including elements of investment, takaful, savings and tax,” it said.
It said that the game not only educates students about money management but also challenges them with real-life scenarios, testing their decision-making abilities and teamwork.
At the event, MNRB also contributed smart televisions for SMK Ungku Aziz’s lecture hall to enrich students’ learning experiences.
The contribution was presented by Takaful Ikhlas General Bhd president and chief executive officer Datuk Rudy Rodzila Che Lamin, representing MNRB Group, to SMK Ungku Aziz principal Mohd Sueib Ismail.
“In addition, MNRB’s commitment to improving the school’s surrounding is reflected in its ‘Tree of Tomorrow’ initiative which aims to create a lasting legacy of environmental sustainability for the future generations,” the group said.
Meanwhile, a celebrity guest, Iman Troye, made a surprise appearance, entertaining the students and sharing her experiences as well as valuable money management tips.
MNRB expressed hope that the students took away not only the enjoyment from the programme but also gained a deeper understanding of the importance of wise financial management, which will benefit them throughout their lives.
