KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 (Bernama) -- Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (MODENAS), a subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Bhd, introduced a new logo and brand identity today, marking a strategic shift in the company’s strategy as it aims to enhance its global presence.

The launch event, held at JioSpace in Petaling Jaya, featured the unveiling of a new logo inspired by the iconic "M" symbol associated with the Modenas name, incorporating a modern design with new grey and platinum colour variants alongside the traditional blue and white.

In his keynote speech, Tan Sri Syed Faisal Albar, the group managing director of DRB-HICOM Bhd and chairman of MODENAS Malaysia, said that while the company has built a solid base in Malaysia, it aims to expand its reach well beyond the country's borders.

“We have begun exporting to China, Thailand, and the Middle East, and last year, MODENAS' plant in Gurun, Kedah received approval from the China Quality Certification Center, which allows the Kawasaki ZX-6R sports bike to be sold and distributed throughout China.

“We will soon enter additional international markets, and given this positive momentum, we believe it is time to refresh the MODENAS brand,” he added.

He explained that the new MODENAS branding represents more than just a logo and reflects the company’s progress and transformation over the years. “The logo reflects our DNA with a modern design that conveys renewed energy and represents the values of confidence, trust, loyalty, and intelligence,” he said.

In addition to the rebranding, MODENAS showcased an upgraded version of its MODENAS KRISS 110, which now meets Euro 4 emissions standards.

In his speech, group chief executive officer Roslan Roskan said that by meeting these standards, the MODENAS KRISS 110 generates cleaner emissions, improving air quality and supporting global efforts to address climate change. "Moving forward, we will introduce more Euro 4-compliant models and electric motorcycles to support our commitment to offering safer, more robust, and eco-friendly transportation alternatives both in Malaysia and internationally,” he said.
