KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 (Bernama) -- Cisco, a global technology company, has signed collaboration agreements with Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) and Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) under its Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) programme, aiming to drive artificial intelligence (AI) innovation in Malaysia.

Cisco’s CDA platform, a co-investment and co-innovation initiative active in 50 countries, seeks to enhance economic resilience and social inclusion through digitisation, the company said in a statement during its inaugural AI Day event.

Cisco said its partnership with TM will focus on assisting Jabatan Digital Negara (JDN) in modernising digital infrastructure.

In collaboration with PNB, Cisco will equip PNB’s innovation lab, network operations centre, and collaboration areas with AI-powered networking, Internet of Things (IoT) and security technologies as the investment company moves to its new office.

Cisco also announced a partnership with Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) to launch an AI hackathon.

This event aims to bridge the AI skills gap and provide students with hands-on experience in cutting-edge technology.

According to Cisco, the hackathon will offer engineering and computer science students from universities across Malaysia a platform to develop AI-driven solutions.

“These solutions could potentially transform education by personalising learning experiences and automating administrative tasks for staff,” Cisco said.

Additionally, Cisco has partnered with MyDIGITAL Corporation on an Executive Digital Leadership (EDL) programme, which aims to equip C-suite executives from the public and private sectors with the knowledge to effectively integrate advanced technologies within their organisations.
