KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3 (Bernama) -- Malaysia aims to capitalise on opportunities by enhancing economic co-operation with the Pacific Alliance, said Deputy Investment, Trade, and Industry Minister Liew Chin Tong.
He emphasised that the focus goes beyond trade and investment.
“As Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has highlighted, we are now looking at collaboration and innovation, particularly in advancing the local construction industry to a new phase,” he said at the Seminar on Business Opportunities within the Pacific Alliance today.
Liew added that while Malaysia continues to engage with major partners like the United States and China, the nation is striving to broaden its scope beyond traditional bilateral economic ties with these countries.
As Malaysia prepares to chair ASEAN in 2025, he hoped that with input and suggestions, more progress can be achieved.
“I see this as an opportunity. Malaysia’s ASEAN chairmanship comes at a time when the world is grappling with shaping the next global order.
“This is a chance for us to achieve more. I look forward to deeper engagement with the Pacific Alliance and exploring how we can collaboratively shape the future global framework,” he said.
