Negeri Sembilan Records Revenue Collection Of RM636 Mln For 2024

SEREMBAN, Jan 7 (Bernama) -- The Negeri Sembilan government recorded a revenue collection of RM636 million, which is 122.31 per cent of the target set at RM520 million for the year ended Dec 31, 2024, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

He said this was a very proud achievement and reflected the dedication, integrity, and hard work of all public servants in the state.

"All of us can feel the changes in the administration that have allowed the state government to achieve surplus revenue for three consecutive years.

"Congratulations to everyone. This is the result of collaboration and integration between the long-serving and new members of the administration who stand firm together with the state government," he said when delivering his speech at the 2025 Negeri Sembilan Government Administration Gathering, attended by around 1,500 state civil servants at the Seremban City Council Hall here, today.

State Secretary Datuk Zafir Ibrahim and Senior Exco Member Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias were also present.

He said that with the existing Unity Government's planning, they were confident and believed that the spirit of teamwork from all parties would remain strong to drive meaningful reforms, particularly in the state.

He emphasised that this achievement should not be an excuse for complacency but rather a responsibility to continue improving performance and ensuring that every sen collected is used efficiently, prudently, and brings maximum benefits to the people.

Meanwhile, Aminuddin called on all parties to focus on the state government's major agenda for the next five years to achieve the target of reaching RM1 billion in state revenue collection.

In another development, he said that from 2019 to October 2024, a total of RM2.32 billion was spent on various road maintenance works in the state.

He said the state government had approved the procurement of assets and machinery worth RM5.59 million to replace 27 old vehicles and supply 18 drones to increase the efficiency of road maintenance management under the Malaysian Road Records Information System (MARRIS) allocation.

Aminuddin said that last year, the state government received an allocation for MARRIS State Road Maintenance from the Ministry of Finance amounting to RM395 million, which was an increase of RM20.6 million (5.5 per cent) compared to RM374.4 million in 2023.
