Malaysia's Palm Oil Exports Set To Grow By 2.4 Pct To 17.3 Mln Tonnes In 2025 - MPOB

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 14 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s palm oil exports are expected to increase by 2.4 per cent to 17.30 million tonnes in 2025 from 16.90 million tonnes in 2024, according to the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB). 

MPOB director-general Datuk Dr Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir said the commodity's export revenue is projected to grow by 9.8 per cent to RM120 billion in 2025 from RM109.33 billion in 2024. 

“Looking towards the situation in Indonesia and the good palm oil demand, we hope this year’s palm oil exports can increase,” he said during his presentation at the Palm Oil Economic Review and Outlook Seminar (R&O) 2025 here today.

He said crude palm oil (CPO) production would also rise by 0.3 per cent to 19.5 million tonnes in 2025 from 16.90 million tonnes last year, while palm oil stocks would decrease by 6.4 per cent to 1.60 million tonnes from 1.70 million tonnes in 2024.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Parveez said that the average CPO prices would likely hover around RM4,000 per tonne to RM4,300 per tonne in 2025, mainly due to tighter supply availability globally.

“The implementation of the B40 biodiesel mandate in Indonesia is expected to reduce global palm oil supply for export market.

“The demand for biodiesel in the United States is anticipated to rise -- tightening global vegetable oil supplies,” he noted.

Furthermore, he said that the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities and its agencies will continuously collaborate to address environmental concerns while promoting economic stability and social responsibility within the industry.

This will ultimately foster a more sustainable and balanced future for the palm oil industry, he added.
