KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 (Bernama) -- MBSB Bank Bhd has refunded all monies illegally withdrawn from affected customers’ accounts in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
The incident involved a syndicate, that colluded with certain staff members now in remand by the police, to carry out the illegal withdrawals authenticated through forged National Registration Identity Cards.
In a statement today, MBSB Bank said following a comprehensive internal review which prompted an initial police investigation, the bank is actively collaborating with the authorities to ensure a swift and thorough resolution of the cases.
“Our priority is the security and trust of our customers. We are working closely with the authorities to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice,” the bank said.
It also said that it is committed to maintaining the integrity of banking security for all its customers and will continue to work with the police and relevant authorities to ensure that those involved face the full consequences of their actions.
