LABUAN, Feb 21 (Bernama) -- A senior engineer has been remanded for two days to assist in an investigation into a RM100,000 corruption case.
Magistrate Kasyfurrahman Abang Ahmad granted the remand order, effective today until Feb 23.
The 42-year-old civil servant was arrested by the Labuan Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) at 4.38 pm on Feb 20 after being questioned at the agency’s office.
The individual is being investigated under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009 for allegedly receiving RM100,000 in bribes from a construction company in exchange for facilitating payments related to projects at Labuan Vocational College between 2021 and 2022.
