KOTA BHARU, Feb 25 (Bernama) -- The Southeast Brigade General Operations Force (PGA) foiled an attempt to smuggle 20 sheep estimated to weigh more than 600 kilogrammes in Kampung Seri Merbau, Pasir Mas last Saturday.
Its commander, Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid said the seizure was made by the 8th Battalion from a lorry, which was left suspiciously in the village, at about 9.20 pm during the Op Taring Wawasan patrol.
"Upon inspection, the team found 20 sheep in the lorry, with the value of the loot and the lorry amounting to RM115,000," he said in a statement today.
The case is investigated under Section 36 (1) of the Animal Act 1953.
