IPOH, March 4 (Bernama) -- A fire destroyed an animal feed processing factory in the Gopeng Industrial Area here yesterday.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director of operations Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the department was alerted at 10.40 am, and fire-fighters arrived at the scene five minutes later.
He said the fire destroyed 90 per cent of the Class A feed processing factory, while two forklifts were 80 per cent burnt.
"The fire was brought under control at 11.56 am. The cause of the fire and the estimated losses are still under investigation," he said in a statement today.
He added that 24 personnel from the Gopeng, Simpang Pulai, Batu Gajah, Kampar, Ipoh, and Pasir Puteh fire and rescue stations were involved in the operation, which ended at 3.28 am today.
