KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Malaysian Institute of Integrity (IIM) will strengthen cooperation in coordinating educational and corruption prevention initiatives in the country.

MACC deputy chief commissioner (Prevention) Datuk Azmi Kamaruzaman said the commission’s Governance Investigation Division and Community Education Division would engage with IIM to design and plan programmes to avoid any overlap.

“If the IIM has an issue it wishes to raise with the Governance Committee, it can refer the matter to the MACC Public Sector Governance Division.

“The MACC Strategic Communications Division and the IIM Strategic Communications and Flagship Division can hold discussions to improve public perception of integrity and corruption prevention,” he said in a statement here today.

Meanwhile, IIM chief executive officer Rahman Mohd Din, who welcomed the proposal, said the institute was ready to establish a strategic collaboration with the MACC to explore the most effective methods in corruption prevention, in line with technological advancements.
