PEKAN, Aug 26 (Bernama) -- Police arrested three individuals, including a married couple, in two separate raids and seized drugs worth over RM32,000 here on Sunday.
Pekan police chief Supt Mohd Zaidi Mat Zin said the 1,033.46 gram (g) of drugs, including syabu and yaba pills, could supply over 2,000 addicts for a day.
“The first raid in Kampung Geylang led to the arrest of a 49-year-old unemployed man with five prior drug offences, with police recovering 831.9g of suspected syabu hidden in a safe,” he said at a press conference here today.
Also seized was a floral-patterned zip bag containing 201.56 grams of suspected yaba pills.
A second raid in Kampung Pelangkah saw the arrest of a 48-year-old man with 19 drug-related records and his 28-year-old wife, who has three.
All suspects, who are locals, have been remanded for six days until Aug 30 for investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
