BINTULU, Sept 1 (Bernama) -- A boy who reportedly fell into a ditch in Jalan Sebaru here yesterday has been found drowned.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Centre, the victim was identified as seven-year-old Ricky Peter Bandang.
It said a team from the Bintulu Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) rushed to the scene, which was about six kilometres away, upon receiving a distress call at 8.45 pm.
The body was recovered about two hours later, about two metres away from where his clothes were found.
"The boy was pronounced dead by a medical team from the Ministry of Health who were at the location, and the body was then handed over to the police for further action," it said.
