HULU SELANGOR, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is offering four diploma programmes at its training centres specifically for its personnel, said the Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail.
He stated that the diploma programmes, namely Police Management, Criminal Investigation, Internal Security, and Security Intelligence, are all accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
“Security threats that are becoming more complex, and the rising public expectations for PDRM to deliver the highest standards of service demand stronger human capital initiatives to uphold national security and public order.
“The development of these programmes is in line with PDRM’s Strategic Plan 2021-2025, aimed at strengthening professionalism and empowering the force through continuous education and training as part of efforts to produce competent and credible officers, improve the force’s image and boost public confidence and trust,” he said.
He said this at the launch of PDRM’s Diploma in Policing and the National Occupational Skills Standard at the PDRM College in Kuala Kubu Bharu, here today, which was also attended by his deputy, Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, and PDRM’s top leadership.
Mohd Khalid said PDRM has also developed the Division Operations Management (Policing) Skills programme (Level 4) and the Malaysian Advanced Skills Diploma in District Operations Management (Policing) (Level 5), in line with the National Occupational Skills Standard.
“This effort is aimed at transforming the Sang Saka Biru to become more competent and excellent, and is also reflected through the Basic Detective Transition Course, conducted in accordance with the National Occupational Skills Standard for Level II Detectives.
“It involves detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department, the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department, and the Commercial Crime Investigation Department,” he said.
He stated that all these programmes are designed to produce knowledgeable, highly skilled, and competitive personnel, aiming to elevate the force as a world-class police agency.
