SHAH ALAM, 10 Sept (Bernama) -- The prosecution today handed over relevant documents to the defence in the case of a policeman charged with last year’s murder of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) graduate Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah.

Lawyer Aida Jaafar Mad Ariff, representing Lance Corporal Muhammad Alif Monjani, 27, confirmed receiving the documents.

"The court has set Oct 28 for the case mention and on that day,  the defence will inform whether they want to submit a representation or not," she said after the case management before High Court Deputy Registrar Nadia Othman today.

The prosecution was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor Maizatul Munirah Abdul Rahman.

According to the charge, Muhammad Alif is alleged to have caused the death of Nur Farah Kartini, 26, at SKC Farm, Kledang, Mukim Hulu Bernam, between 9 am on July 10 and 6 pm on July 15, 2024.

The charge is framed under  Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, which provides the death sentence or imprisonment for up to 40 years and not less than 12 strokes of the cane, if convicted.

Nur Farah Kartini was reported missing on July 10, 2024, after delivering a rental car to a customer. Five days later, her body was found by police in an oil palm plantation in Kampung Sri Kledang, Hulu Selangor.
