Region Two Marine Police Commander, ACP Noor Azman Jamal, said that the first raid was conducted at approximately 2:00 pm yesterday in the Pasir Gudang area following intelligence regarding the misappropriation of CPO.

He said a 37-year-old local man was detained while transferring CPO from one lorry to another without valid documents.

"Inspection revealed 24 drums filled with crude palm oil and 23 empty drums, totaling an estimated 4.8 tonnes of CPO. The suspect failed to produce valid documentation from the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB)," he said in a statement today.

He added that the seizure value for this case is estimated at RM185,100, and the case is being investigated under Regulation 5 of the Malaysian Palm Oil (Licensing) Regulations 2005.

Meanwhile, Noor Azman added that two additional raids involving the storage and sale of fireworks and firecrackers without permits were carried out in Skudai and Danga Bay.

He stated that during the Skudai raid at approximately 10:00 pm yesterday, a 32-year-old local man was arrested along with a seizure of 86 boxes of fireworks and firecrackers valued at RM211,000.

"The third raid was conducted at approximately 12:30 AM today (Feb 24) at a residential premise around Danga Bay, where a 39-year-old local man was detained with a seizure of 77 boxes of fireworks and firecrackers valued at RM231,300," he said.

The total value of the fireworks and firecrackers seized in both cases is estimated at RM442,300, and investigations are being conducted under Section 8 of the Explosives Act 1957.
