Businesswoman Drops Police Report Over Singer's Son Ferrari Theft Claims

KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 (Bernama) -- A businesswoman has withdrawn her police report against the son of a singer from a famous 90s band and two of his associates, who were accused of stealing her Ferrari.

Muhamad Firdaus Jumaludin, lawyer for the singer's son Mohd Aliff Naim Mohd Azmir, 40, said the dispute with the businesswoman has been amicably resolved, including a formal apology.

“The police report was withdrawn by the complainant yesterday. We’re waiting for the official investigation report to go to court for next steps,” he said after today’s hearing when speaking to reporters outside Ampang court.

During today's hearing, Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhammad Aizudin Radthuan requested Magistrate Normaizan Rahim to postpone proceedings, as there was no record of the complainant's withdrawal of the police report.

Normaizan set the case mention for April 27 to check the status of the police report withdrawal.

Mohd Aliff Naim, Norqyyum Zainori and Nor Kamrulazli Muhamed Noor Husen were charged with stealing a RM300,000 Ferrari from a 55-year-old woman at a Jalan Hillview, Hulu Kelang car wash at 11.08 am on Nov 17, 2024.

They were charged under Section 379A of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34, which carries up to seven years in jail and can also result in a fine upon conviction.

They also pleaded not guilty to an alternative charge of keeping stolen property, the Ferrari, under Section 411 of the Penal Code, carrying up to five years in jail, a fine, or both if convicted.

Media reports cited that police arrested six people, including a woman believed to be involved in the theft.
