SHAH ALAM, April 17 (Bernama) -- The Selangor Immigration Department carried out a raid on several massage parlours in Bukit Rimau, Section 32, under Op Gegar last night, leading to the arrest of 11 foreign women suspected of immigration offences.
Its director, Khairrul Aminus Kamaruddin, said the operation, which began at about 8 pm, involved 37 enforcement officers who inspected premises believed to be offering illegal services.
“The operation resulted in the arrest of 11 foreign women, aged between 18 and 47, comprising four Thais, Myanmar (four), China (two) and Vietnam (one), who are believed to have been working without valid documents,” he said in a statement today.
He added that among the offences detected were failure to possess valid identification documents, overstaying and misuse of passes or permits.
All cases are being investigated under the Immigration Act 1959/1963,” he said, adding that the detainees have been taken to the Semenyih Immigration Depot for remand and further investigation.
In a related development, Khairrul Aminus said the department will continue to intensify enforcement operations to curb illegal immigration activities and ensure compliance with immigration laws.
