KUCHING, April 21 (Bernama) -- The Sarawak General Operations Force (GOF) Brigade recorded 27 successes through operations conducted at several locations in the state from April 1 to 20, with total seizures valued at RM32.23 million.
Sarawak GOF Brigade Commander SAC Lim Bak Phai said the operations covered Kuching, Bintulu, Sibu, Sri Aman and Miri.
He said among the major successes were large-scale seizures under Op Taring Chiller, which recorded the highest value at RM21.3 million, and Op Taring Bravo amounting to RM7.36 million.
“The operations also focused on cases involving the misappropriation of diesel and controlled goods, as well as crippling the storage and distribution of frozen products without permits in large quantities,” he said in a statement today.
Lim said the Sarawak GOF Brigade also implemented Ops Tiris 4.0 (Bersepadu), which began on March 16, focusing on curbing leakage and misappropriation of controlled goods, particularly diesel.
“To date, a total of 264 inspections have been carried out, with 31 cases detected, involving seizures worth approximately RM13.5 million and the arrest of 45 individuals,” he said.
