KUALA LUMPUR, April 22 (Bernama) -- The Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) is studying and examining the investigation papers into the shooting incident that caused the deaths of three individuals in Durian Tunggal, Melaka in November last year.

AGC in a statement announced that it had been briefed on the progress of the investigation into the case by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

"The AGC is studying and examining the investigation papers submitted in detail to determine any appropriate further instructions, if necessary," the statement said.

The department assured that any prosecution decision would be made based on the law and available evidence to ensure that justice is served to all parties.

In the incident on Nov 24, three men aged between 24 and 29 were shot dead after one of them allegedly swung a machete at a police corporal at an oil palm plantation in Durian Tunggal, at about 4 am.

The incident left a policeman in his early 30s with a serious injury to his left arm.

Previously, Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail was reported to have said that the investigation into the case had been completed and his party was awaiting a report from the relevant agency before further action was taken.
