PUTRAJAYA, May 1 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM) will host its 74th Civil Defence Day (HUTPA 74) celebration next Tuesday and Wednesday at its headquarters in Sungai Merab, Kajang, near here.
The APM in a statement today said this year's celebration carries the theme ‘APM Nadi Kesiapsiagaan Masa Hadapan’ (APM: The Pulse of Future Readiness), in line with the agency's ongoing commitment to empowering public preparedness and strengthening comprehensive disaster management.
The opening ceremony, scheduled for Wednesday, will be officiated by Deputy Prime Minister and Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
APM added that the event serves as an important platform to showcase the roles and responsibilities of its personnel in executing rescue missions, humanitarian aid, and disaster management.
“Furthermore, the programme aims to increase public awareness and understanding regarding safety and disaster preparedness, while fostering a spirit of volunteerism among Malaysians,” the statement read.
APM added that various engaging and high-impact activities have been planned throughout HUTPA 74, involving security agencies, non-governmental organisations, educational institutions, and the local community.
“The public is invited to attend and enliven the celebration, while gaining direct exposure to APM’s roles and functions in ensuring the safety and well-being of the people,” it said.
