PUTRAJAYA, May 11 (Bernama) -- The alleged bullying incident at a teacher education institute (IPG) in Sarawak is currently under investigation by the Institute of Teacher Education Malaysia (IPGM).

In a statement today, IPGM said it viewed the incident seriously and would not compromise on any form of bullying misconduct.

“Firm action, including expulsion from IPGM through disciplinary measures, will be taken against any trainee found guilty.

“Trainee teachers must uphold discipline and demonstrate good morals and character as future educators,” the statement read.

An alleged bullying incident that reportedly took place in the early hours of Friday went viral on social media, involving a group of senior students and junior male trainees from the 2025/2030 intake at the IPG.

The group of senior students was alleged to have gathered all junior male trainees before subjecting them to various forms of humiliation, including the use of abusive language and other immoral acts.
