KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 (Bernama) -- Authorities confirmed that an illegal flat structure built by undocumented immigrants in Kampung Kenangan, Sungai Makau, Hulu Langat, was raided on Feb 28, 2025.
Kajang police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said enforcement action at the location would continue.
He said that during the raid conducted under ‘Ops Kutip’, in collaboration with the Selangor Immigration Department last year, 42 foreign nationals without valid travel documents were detained.
“They comprised 35 men, three women, as well as two boys and two girls.
“All those arrested were investigated by the Immigration Department under Section 51(3)(a) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 and detained under Section 51(5)(b) of the same Act at an Immigration Depot,” he said in a statement today.
The statement was issued following the circulation of a 47-second video on Facebook today showing the existence of the structure.
Elaborating further, Naazron said authorities had also served an IMM 29 Form (summons to a witness) and a search form under Section 51(1) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 on a local man to assist in the investigation.
He said the man identified himself as the son of the owner of the house where the illegal structure had been erected.
Naazron said members of the public with any information could contact the MERS 999 hotline or the Kajang district police headquarters (IPD) Control Centre at 03-8911 4243.
