19/05/2026 03:35 PM

KUANTAN, May 19 (Bernama) -- The National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund (TEKUN Nasional), in collaboration with TikTok Shop, today launched the TikTok Shop Live Hub Pahang, a strategic initiative aimed at empowering micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by leveraging the shoppertainment concept.

TEKUN Nasional chairman Datuk Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid said the opening of the TikTok Shop Live Hub in the state brings the total number of studios established to 10, across five locations, namely Kuala Lumpur, Sabah, Johor, Kelantan and Pahang.

He said TikTok Shop has played an important role as a digital marketing platform, with its performance to date proving highly encouraging in helping local entrepreneurs expand their market reach.

“I was informed that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was also surprised to see how quickly we are moving in empowering MSMEs through this digital platform,” he told reporters after the launch of the TikTok Shop Live Hub x TEKUN Nasional Pahang here today.

Also held at the event was the presentation of the TikTok Shop Online Promotion and Business Workshop Entrepreneur Award, with Sanggar Collection KTN founder Mohamad Rizal Abdullah named the first-place winner.

Qasyaa founder Siti Sya’erah Syafri came in second, while Butik Haji Umrah Assafwah founder Mohamad Asyraf Mohd Fuzei placed third.

Abdullah Sani expressed confidence that the synergy between TEKUN Nasional financing and the TikTok Shop digital marketing platform would strengthen the country’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and enhance the competitiveness of local entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, TikTok Shop Malaysia director of Strategic Partnerships Nur Azre Abdul Aziz said the TikTok Shop Live Hub facility has delivered encouraging results, with participating entrepreneurs recording sales of about RM700,000 to date.

She said most of the facility’s users are new entrepreneurs with no prior experience of conducting live broadcasts on TikTok.

“The quality of the live broadcasts in this studio is significantly different as it uses a professional set-up which would normally cost tens of thousands of ringgit. More interestingly, this facility is provided free of charge through the collaboration between TikTok Shop and TEKUN Nasional,” she said.

Nur Azre said TikTok Shop, together with TEKUN Nasional, will open another studio in Penang this year, in addition to three mini-hubs in Sabah located in Kimanis, Sandakan and Tawau.

“Taking into account all existing locations, including the new additions in Sabah, the total number of studios under TEKUN Nasional is expected to reach 15 by the end of this year,” she said.

At the same event, TEKUN Nasional also presented financing cheques to 10 entrepreneurs to support the expansion of their businesses.

Shortcurrent71 founders Jamaludin Mat Zawi, 40, and Noor Fatihah Ramli, 38, said they are in the process of expanding their business operations following rising demand through TikTok.

“Demand on TikTok is growing rapidly, prompting us to seek additional working capital.

“Currently, we are only able to produce around 2,000 pieces of clothing, but with the help of this financing, we aim to increase capacity to 10,000 pieces to expand and diversify our products,” Jamaludin said.
