KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 6 -- “Thank god, a gold medal for Nasi Lemak Bunga Telang.”
That described the feelings of local chef Siti Safura Mohd Tawil through her Instagram posting after emerging champion in the Asia-India category of the 2020 Chef Ireland Culinary Competition yesterday.
Siti Safura has made the country proud on the world stage and received the gold medal with the Jalur Gemilang national flag when she was announced the winner.
In the competition held in Dublin, Ireland, organised by a panel of Irish chefs, Siti Safura put forth a unique and well-loved dish of Malaysians, the Nasi Lemak Bunga Telang.
In her posting, she also thanked those who had supported her throughout the competition.
“Thank you Malaysian Ambassador Zakaria Nasir and wife, Junainah for your endless support. Also thanks to Chef Boy, Chef Fauzan, Dr. Esa and Razman for your advice and insights. It is very much appreciated! ” she posted.
Siti Safura’s Nasi Lemak Bunga Telang was made up of blue coloured rice, rendang ayam, kerabu and crunchy keropok lekor.
