Bernama TV journalist Diah Nor Iscahyono Mohd Jaiz's special report entitled "Panglima Perang COVID-19" emerged as 1st runner up in the Broadcast Media (Television) and Online Video category.

Muhammad Zhafirin Mohd Taha from the National Film Development Corporation (Finas) was named the winner of the category while the third place was won by TV3's Wan Zairul Azri Wan Mohammad Sudin.

Meanwhile, The Star journalist Bavani Mahalingam secured second spot in the Print Media category.

Winners in both categories walked away with a cash prize of RM3,000 while second and third place winners took home RM2,000 and RM1,000 respectively.

The media award presentation was held during the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Award ceremony organised by MSOSH virtually via its official Facebook page and Youtube channel.

The MSOSH OSH award was held in recognition of organisations and companies' outstanding track record in the aspects of occupational safety and health.

Of the 230 total entries submitted, only 158 companies and organisations were selected to receive awards in various categories.

Deputy Human Resources Minister Awang Hashim in a pre-recorded video broadcast during the award presentation ceremony said participating organisations and companies went through rigorous audits.

"The MSOSH OSH award is a very significant performance indicator of occupational safety and health for organisations in Malaysia.

"This will indirectly cultivate good occupational safety and health practices and further enhance the corporate image of the organisations," he said.

Awang said more efforts need to be done to reduce accidents and deaths at workplaces in the country.

"It is the government's hope that we can be on the same par with developed countries such as Japan and the United Kingdom," he said.

At the ceremony, Astro Malaysia Holding Berhad, Bukit Jalil was named the recipient of the Gold Class 1 Award.
