KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 23 -- The Merdeka Award Trust today announced that the 2021 Merdeka Award Grant for International Attachment is now open for application until May 3 and up to five recipients will be selected.
Petronas president and group chief executive officer Tengku Muhammad Taufik said the Merdeka Award Grant for International Attachment is committed to retain its position as a key for deserving young Malaysians to become the next generation of leaders in their respective fields.
“Throughout the years, the programme has provided the necessary skills and expertise that have seen our young leaders expand their capabilities to deliver exceptional advancements for the nation and its people,” he said in a statement today.
The grant aims to nurture qualified Malaysian students and professionals between the ages 22 and 35, and to support their journey of excellence to become future leaders that would contribute positively to the nation.
The selected candidates would undergo short-term collaborative programmes of up to three months at globally renowned host institutions and organisations.
The grant covers a broad range of disciplines such as education, visual and performing arts, sports, heritage, community and social work, economics, finance, environment, health, and science and technology.
