KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 -- Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL), the operator of the KLIA Express and KLIA Transit train services is targeting 8,000 passengers during the ‘ERL RM1 Joyride Weekend’ promotion today and tomorrow.
ERL chief executive officer Noormah Mohd Noor said the effort was aimed at encouraging and reviving public confidence in using public transportation following the COVID-19 situation.
“At the same time, ERL will ensure the standard operating procedures (SOP) to prevent COVID-19 such as maintaining physical distancing, the wearing of face masks and avoiding mass gatherings during the two-day promotion,” she told reporters after the launching of the promotion at KL Sentral, today.
Through the promotion, the public would have the opportunity to enjoy a joyride on board an ERL train today and tomorrow, at a cost of only RM1 for a one-way ticket to any ERL station.
Several ERL stations have also organised interesting activities, including meeting with cosplayers and organising sales.
Meanwhile, a passenger Hazley Halim, 44, said he lauded the effort by ERL, and would take the opportunity to take his family onboard the train from KL Sentral to KLIA2.
“Normally, I use the ERL train to go abroad on business, but today I took the opportunity of having a fun trip with my family.
“Although the service has not been used much for almost two years, I see that the condition of the facilities is still perfect,” said Hazley, who lives in Petaling Jaya.
