MAIPs: Initiatives to address COVID-19 impacts, among achievements in 2021

KANGAR, Dec 31 -- The Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) has succeeded in implementing various initiatives throughout 2021 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

MAIPs said among its achievements this year are nine initiatives to address COVID-19 impacts; 45 targeted zakat or tithe distribution schemes; continuation of training and job placement programmes at the Akademi Transformasi Asnaf MAIPs (ATAM) and 23 initiatives under the MAIPs 2.0 holistic distribution plan.

Apart from that, other successes include the handing over of the MAIPs Waqf Building for the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital Dialysis Centre; Kg Warna-warni Royal Project and Kampung Seberang Ramai transformation programme, it said in a statement today.

MAIPs also obtained the clean audit certificate from the Auditor General for its financial statement for nine consecutive years, as well as received the MASTI Special Award from the Ministry of Higher Education and an excellent rating for its website, based on the Websites and Government Online Services Monitoring System (SPLaSK), Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU).

The management of MAIPs also expressed its appreciation to the Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail for his commitment and wisdom in leading MAIPs as its president.

Meanwhile, in the same statement, MAIPs chief executive officer, Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor said the Raja Muda of Perlis’ deep concern in ensuring the management of Islamic affairs in Perlis is managed well has been clearly demonstrated in a few initiatives, among others, MAIPs Strategic Plan (2021-2025) and MAIPs time capsule (2025).
