Meanwhile, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said the Ronald McDonald Sensory Therapy Room (RMSR) at A-Heart UniMAP was fully financed by Ronald McDonald House Charities Malaysia (RMHC Malaysia) and was the latest and most sophisticated facility in keeping with the needs of special children.

“I hope the families of the children with special needs can take the opportunity to use this facility as best as possible for the positive mental and physical development of their children,” he said.

Azmir said RMSR is a sense therapy room with complete multi-sensory equipment to spur the basic senses such as sight, hearing, touch and smell to boost cognitive and the confidence of children with special needs and learning problems.

“To date, RHMC has set up 35 sensory therapy rooms nationwide which have benefitted 7,000 special children,” said Azmir who is also Ronald McDonald’s Malaysia Welfare Association chairman.
